We focus on delivering superior value rather than the lowest price, though these are not always mutually exclusive. Our products are selected to address real customer needs as defined by customers themselves. We provide a level of service rare in digital retail.
Part of our mission is education. We want you to understand why our products are important for your working comfort. Once you understand the products, we believe that you will agree that we offer the right products for you.
The office furniture industry has an enormous range of products. Too many choices create confusion for buyers. We want to simplify your purchase. We offer relatively few product choices, but we believe in every product we offer. We have no interest in selling low quality products just because they are lower priced. Many of these either lack important features or were not built to last. There are also higher priced products with features of questionable value. We aim for a middle path. We offer high quality products at a fair price.
WorksInComfort is an authorized dealer of several leading manufacturers. We only show a sampling of the most popular products from these manufacturers. If you are interested in another product not on our website, please let us know. We can provide any product from these manufacturers to meet your specific requirements. WorksInComfort is a collaboration of Steve Coder and Jonathan Knott, high-school classmates who grew up on the Mississippi River in Iowa. They forged diverse, highly successful careers based on traditional Midwest values of honesty, integrity, hard work and entrepreneurial drive.
Steve is a 30-year veteran of the office products industry. Most recently he served as the President & CEO of Mayline, an independent Wisconsin-based office furniture provider that he steered to new heights of performance. Prior to Mayline, he spent many years with HNI Corporation, North America’s 2nd largest office furniture company, serving in various roles, at a variety of operating companies.
During his tenure at HNI, Steve ran a traditional bricks & mortar office furniture dealership. While at The HON Company, Steve served as the Vice President of two strategic business units (systems furniture and metal desks & storage) overseeing product development, product engineering, and marketing. Steve also served in several leadership roles in operations and finance. While at Curtis Computer Products, a computer accessories company providing ergonomic computer products, Steve held general management roles in addition to operations and finance.
Jonathan graduated from MIT with degrees in Physics, Electrical Engineering and Mathematics before earning a doctorate in Physics from the University of Illinois. He worked on several nuclear and particle physics experiments, including the MEGA project at Los Alamos National Lab which studied rare decays of muon particles.
Jonathan then consulted for MCI's Intelligent Network Services division, working with new Internet-based solutions in the telecommunications industry. In 1999, he co-founded FUSE Insight, applying his scientific background to build what is arguably the most powerful web-based interview platform in existence. He is still responsible for overseeing all technology at the company.
WorksInComfort is the next stage in Steve and Jonathan's lifelong quest to challenge the status quo. They strive to constantly improve processes, procedures and products to help businesses move forward.
